About Us

On the Mount reminds us of a gathering place where curious Jesus disciples gathered to hear Him.  Many journeyed a long distance to sit at the feet of the King, and we too are journeying each day.  We desire to know Christ more fully and to be His love to this world.  As a community of Jesus-followers, we want to help one another to maintain integrity, and love in this world.   Jesus told us that the world will know we are Christians by how we love one another.

One of Many

We realize that our small group is just one of many that make up a very large family that are travelling toward eternity with Christ. That makes us more aware that being a community of Jesus is a global movement. Being part of a global concern, we are conscious that groups that belong to Jesus should look like a better place-a better family-than what doesn't belong to Him.

Belonging to Jesus

Since any group or church that belongs to Jesus imitates his ways, we want to appreciate God's involvement in our lives. We do that by valuing God in our assembly-through the edification of His people. We do that through song, communion and prayer. We also get involved in our group's life together by helping each other and others, in encouraging mutual participation.

Disciples as Learners

Then there is also the sense in which we are a baptized and discipling church. Jesus was baptized by John and early beleivers were baptized as part of making a change and giving their loyalty to Jesus. We consider baptism as a part of journey, but it's only a beginning. Much of our lives then involve walking with Jesus and learning from Him. This means that we invite others to share in this journey of discovery with Jesus.
